Snack Attack! Crescent Pizza Rolls

Has it really been over a month since I've posted?! It has and I'm sorry about that. I don't really have an excuse beyond, "meh." I was feeling a little down and unmotivated at the beginning of November and then we traveled to my brother and sister-in-law's home in Saratoga Springs for Thanksgiving. When we got back to the DC metro area, I had to mentally prepare myself to get back into work for the month of December, Christmas away from our families, and our trip to Paris. Long story short, we've been busy, but I've also lacked all motivation for my normal crafty/project weekend endeavors.

Until today!  It's a chilly day in the nation's capital region. Sam and I, in our attempts to live somewhat frugally keep our thermostat set to 68 in the winter. Well, friends, 68 degrees was making me feel the kind of cold where very little makes you warm. You know what I mean? Socks, an extra sweater, and hot tea are nice attempts, but you end up still being cold and rushing to the bathroom every 20 minutes after all the hot tea you drank. I realized, the only remedy to this inside out cold feeling was to make a warm, carb-loaded snack, or, more specifically, crescent pizza rolls!

I came across the crescent pizza roll idea during one of my many pinterest food, household, and holiday inspiration browsing sessions. (If you're not on pinterest yet, you might want to consider joining. It's a great spot to house all your interweb ideas that you come across.) The crescent pizza rolls are very simple to make. You buy a crescent roll tube from the gro-sto (pilsbury or the generic brand are fine) and unroll each of the rolls so that it is ready for whatever filling you want to put in it. In my case, I went for Trader Joe's Arabiatta (sp?) sauce, fresh spinach, cut up mozzarella string cheese, and zucchini. Then you roll it up as you normally would and pop it into your pre-heated oven (375 degrees) and bake for 13 minutes. Once ready, out come 8 delectable pizza rolls.  Here are a few pictures of my handywork:

In an effort to keep it real, I must say that while absolutely delicious, these rolls look like a hot mess. Don't let the my lack of hand rolling skill stop you though; these pizza rolls are totally worth it! Also, everything looks better when it's served on white plate. See!

Servings - I vote four servings. We each had two for a snack and then I packed the other four into containers to bring for lunch tomorrow.
